Peace Officer Academy 2008

The first class of peace officers to graduate from the Schenectady County program consists of 11 individuals.

These concerned citizens have undergone training in the animal cruelty laws of The State of New York, as well as penal law and criminal legal procedures, civil laws and arrest and custody procedures.

In addition to the knowledge that these recruits have gained throughout the course, they have had to undergo intense training to fulfill their peace officer duties. They have completed training in firearms, baton usage, OC defense spray, arrest and handcuffing procedures as well as report and citation writing.
