Lieutenant - Matthew J. Johnson





Education/Training:

Lieutenant Johnson is a graduate of Schenectady High School and has attended the Capital Region BOCES program for both Criminal Justice and Automotive Trades.   New York State also certifies Johnson as a Security Officer.

As a peace officer for the Schenectady County SPCA, Johnson has undergone training in animal control and all levels of animal cruelty investigations and has received classroom training in the penal law and criminal proceedings of New York State.  Through completion of this course Investigator Johnson is authorized to carry a firearm, expandable baton, and OC spray for protection and defense.


Awards:

Lieutenant Johnson has been named the Schenectady County SPCA Volunteer of the Month for May 2008.

 

Outside Activities:

Johnson, having a strong interest in criminal justice and related fields, spends his time as a member of the Schenectady Neighborhood Watch and City Patrols.  He has also worked security for local public events.



Animals Currently Owned:

Lieutenant Johnson is the owner of an 8-year-old female chocolate lab named Lilly.

Lieutenant Johnson specializes in Animal Cruelty Investigations.
